Carpenter & Walker score top 15 finishes; Roncada shines
in his qualifer CARLSBAD, Calif., (June 1, 2005) – Team Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ivan Tedesco – the two time
defending THQ/AMA Supercross Series 125 West champion – was his team’s top finisher
at the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Motocross National at High
Point Raceway on Sunday, Round Two of the 2005 AMA Motocross Championship
presented by FMF. Other Monster Energy racers scoring top 15
finishes included Paul Carpenter (12-14, 13th o/a) and Matt Walker (13-16,
15th o/a). “I thought things went pretty well today,” said Tedesco.
“I got a good start in the first moto, but made a couple mistakes and wound up
8th. Second moto I didn’t get as
great a start (12th), but was
able to charge back up into the top ten and hold on for another 8th. I’m definitely looking forward to Southwick next
week (June 11-12). The Nationals’ lone sand race and it’s always a blast.” On a tough note, multi-time Supercross/Motocross
champion Grant Langston - the 125 class winner at the Hangtown
opener - was unable to compete at High Point due to an injured ankle. And the team’s fifth racer, Stephane Roncada continues
his heroic comeback, proving he’s got the speed to run with the leaders even if
it’s just for a portion of the race. Roncada finished second
in his Group 1 qualifier to make the main event. A good sign that he’s
continuing to improve and get his endurance back. Team Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki returns
