Tedesco Cards 8th Place SX Finish at Detroit's Ford Field

4/25/2007

Team Makita Suzuki Racing’s Ivan Tedesco brought home an eighth-place result in the Supercross class at Ford Field in Detroit, MI.

In the Supercross class, Tedesco started the night strong with a second-place finish in his heat race.  In the 20-lap main, he got a decent start but was unable to get around some slower riders.  Several laps in, he suffered a get-off but remounted and was able to bring home eighth place.

“From the first practice, right off the bat, I didn’t feel too good,” admitted Tedesco.  “I struggled a little bit. The second practice was a lot better, and we dialed the Makita Suzuki RM-Z450 in. I felt like I was going into the night with a good setup. I felt confident.  I got a good start in the main and got pushed around a little bit on that first lap and kind of lost a few spots.  I lost some momentum and got into a little bit of a slow pace at the beginning of the race.  I went down on lap nine or so. I hit a hay bale in the mechanic’s area and highsided.  By that time I was pretty far back and did what I could to get back.”

Team Makita Suzuki Racing will take a two-week break and then return for round 15 of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series at Qwest Stadium in Seattle, WA, on Saturday, April 28, 2007.
